Introduction
Wilma van der Vliet was born in Alkmaar (1960) and lives in Gasselternijveen. In Amsterdam she studied legal administrative sciences and worked as a senior legislative lawyer at a ministry until 1998. Creativity played a major role since childhood, but due to her busy life there was no room for that anymore. In 1999 she picked up drawing and painting again.
She followed the basic training at the Classical Academy of Painting in Groningen and was then privately supervised by Chris Herenius, one of the teachers at the Academy. Her attention is on fine painting where the subject determines the choice of material. That can be watercolor, but also egg tempera, gouache or oil paint.
Wilma's work is included in the Contemporary Realistic & Figurative Art collection and the Master Hand of Museum Møhlmann in Appingedam.
